Although Full Tilt Logistics and Full Tilt Transportation are women-owned companies, there is no doubt who the big diesel engines are that power the organizations. Co-owners and brothers Nic and Cris Novich are the drivers of the bus. Everyone has their strengths and lanes of responsibility, but the Novich brothers are truly the leaders of the rapidly growing companies.
These two brothers have been closely connected their entire lives. Nic, the oldest helped found Full Tilt Logistics in 2014 and convinced younger brother Cris to join him in 2017 and create Full Tilt Transportation. The lifelong trust between the brothers cannot be emphasized enough, they have each other’s backs when things get hectic as is usually the case in a freight brokerage, trucking, and transportation business. Although the brothers work closely together operating the two companies, they arrived at this business partnership in different ways.
Older brother Nic runs Full Tilt Logistics. He has worked with several large freight brokerage and transportation companies and was a key contributor in starting two brokerages before founding Full Tilt Logistics in 2014. He has experience and a thorough knowledge of the business. His sales ability and customer service skills are exceptional because he is honest and smart with a healthy dose of common sense. He is a high-energy, whatever it takes to get the job done leader and is the true visionary of the companies. He has always had and still does have a true vision of where Full Tilt will be in ten years, thinking several steps ahead of his business partners and employees. When we think things are going well and running smoothly Nic wonders “what if we did this” or “have you seen the latest technology” or “what if we bought a new building”. Without his knowledge of the industry and continuing to push the envelope, Full Tilt would not be where it is today.
Younger brother Cris runs Full Tilt Transportation. He joined the business in 2017 and was responsible for starting Full Tilt Transportation, the asset-based component of the organizations. Cris is the numbers guy and was a successful Financial Advisor prior to joining the family business. With his leadership, the company has grown to eighteen power units and over forty 53’ dry van trailers. Although decisions must be made quickly, Cris’s planning and organizational skills ensure the company stays on track. Cris can often be found with a phone in each hand and five computer monitors in front of him. He is constantly focused on reducing operating expenses by finding fuel discounts and better insurance rates for the company. He recruits and hires drivers, develops business relationships with existing customers, and sells Full Tilt services to prospective customers.
Nic and Cris's passion and dedication to Full Tilt is always on display and with their leadership, our employee base has grown and we now boast some of the best, well-trained employees in the business. Leading by example, supporting employees and providing them with opportunities to grow with the business have been key in recruiting and maintaining a competent workforce. Employees have the authority and are encouraged to take chances and make decisions to serve the customers' best interests. Nic and Cris are always available to support their employees when they need it. The brothers constantly check in with our customers to see how things are going from their side. In these conversations, we often hear how great it is to work with Full Tilt because customers can always reach an owner for a prompt response to a question or to get a problem solved quickly.
Although the success of Full Tilt is a major part of their lives, maintaining a solid family unit is most important to Nic and Cris. They are both wonderful fathers and husbands and are able to balance work and family effectively. Of course, both of their spouses are also part owners of the companies, so Full Tilt truly is a tight-knit family operation.

She cultivates a positive workplace environment and encourages employees to be who they are and build upon their strengths to be successful. The Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network (YPN) evolved out of a regional economic development planning process led by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN). The Target 2010 project identified that retaining and attracting young talent is a critical need for the greater Reno-Tahoe region.
In January 2006, at Directions Annual Conference, our community was challenged to empower young professionals to get involved in maintaining the region’s economic vitality and quality of life. In summer 2006, several focus groups were convened asking young professionals what they were looking for in an organization geared towards them.
Out of those focus groups, the first meeting of the Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network was held on November 9, 2006, with more than 40 people attending. In December of that year, the first board of directors was appointed. In February 2007, the group celebrated its official launch at Directions 2007 with more than 700 regional business leaders.
Reno Tahoe YPN has continued to evolve to meet the needs of a growing membership and changing economy. The focus has always been to cultivate an informed and active young professional community that collaborates with the community and a variety of established partner organizations throughout northern Nevada.
Tiffany has led Full Tilt to great success and growth over the last several years and we can't wait to see what the future holds! If you're looking for a career in transportation and logistics, connect with us to find out more about what makes Full Tilt one of the best employers in the area.
Full Tilt Transportation and Full Tilt Logistics are rapidly growing Women-Owned companies located in the beautiful Reno – Tahoe area. Owners Tiffany Novich, Jessica Novich, and Cindy Novich have broken barriers in male-dominated industries by surrounding themselves with the best people, providing excellent customer service and following through on their commitments. They continue to support qualified women truck drivers striving to better themselves and prove they are up to the challenge of transporting products in 80 feet of muscle, carrying up to 80,000 pounds of freight.
One example is Tamlynn Hegdahl, one of Full Tilt’s most reliable drivers. She has been with Full Tilt for almost three years. When we spoke with Tamlynn about being a female truck driver, she was waiting in a warehouse watching a gang of men load her truck for a cross country trip back east. Tamlynn is earning her stripes as a cross-country big-rig driver, hoping to attract more women to cope with an industry-wide driver shortage.
The trucker lifestyle can be hard on men and even harder for women. Far from family and friends, women can face harassment, sexism, personal hygiene challenges, safety concerns and living in a rolling home on wheels, sometimes for extended periods of time. “There was one time I didn’t have a shower for five days and that was hard.” Tamlynn has learned to take precautions when it comes to safety. “I avoid parking in rest stops because of the poor lighting and higher crime areas than truck stops.” She also likes to park in the fuel line at the truck stops to run inside for food or to use the restroom. “Confidence is the key…. walk briskly and don’t make eye contact.” Men can park anywhere, but Tamlynn parks in lighted areas and avoids walking between parked trucks and never lets anyone know she is alone. “I’m always on guard. I draw the curtains in my cab as soon as I stop and keep them drawn so no one knows I’m alone.”
Downtime is valuable to a long-haul driver. “I’m not home often so relationships can be hard, but you adjust and make it work.” Tamlynn sees favoritism on a regular basis, as many women truck drivers do. “Shippers and receivers can be condescending and some still don’t think I’m the driver. On the other hand, they may load me first because I’m a woman. It’s all part of the job.”
Tamlynn says she sees more and more women truck drivers. “The other day I was fueling up and there were women drivers on both sides of me, so it’d definitely changing.” It’s a lot of responsibility when you get behind the wheel and she says she is probably more cautious than many of her men counterparts.
Bottom line…. Tamlynn loves the job and the money is great. “I have a degree in psychology and sold insurance for many years and last year I made more money than I ever had.” She loves the long hauls and seeing new places. “My office has the best view in the world and I feel like I’m my own boss. I would never have the chance to see so many places if I wasn’t behind the wheel. I have a great life.”

For those considering truck driving careers, you need to know that the trucking industry is one of the few that remains stable in times of economic recession. This stability makes trucking careers highly desirable. Here are some additional reasons why more people are turning to trucking jobs and making them into careers.
Full Tilt Transportation Careers
How much does a truck driver make? As an entry-level truck driver at Full Tilt Transportation, you have the potential to make up to $60,000 in your first year. This is an exceptional salary for a position that requires no previous experience. Full Tilt’s fair entry-level pay is great for hourly employees who would otherwise have to work several years to earn such a salary. At Full Tilt, you can get on the road immediately and bring home a solid paycheck. On average, at Full Tilt Transportation, we pay our drivers more than the industry average.
Instant ticket to the middle class. So many young people in their 20’s are plagued by student loan debt. In trucking, the training generally takes 4 to 6 weeks and typically costs from $3,000 to $6,000 depending on where the training is done. First-year truck drivers right out of CDL school with Full Tilt are averaging over $54,000 with the potential for much more with superior performance. What other industry can say the same? For those young people seeking a well-paid and satisfying career, Full Tilt Transportation may be the best solution.
“I'm a 23-year-old single male. I have a college degree, but the job market is not great for my field and I HATE being in an office. Not to mention, truck driver salaries are on par with or better than many entry-level degreed jobs."
"I have a lot of debt and what I’m really looking for is a gig that allows me to see the country and allow me to put away some money. I need a little nest egg to help pay off debts and give me some capital to work with down the line."
"I also like driving on the highway. Being on the road so much working really keeps expenses down and allows me to put money away and get out of debt.”
If there's a need for cargo, there's a need for truck drivers to deliver that cargo. Many of our drivers at Full Tilt have experience working in unstable industries like construction. After these jobs, they then sought careers with more regular, weekly paychecks. This is something that trucking careers at Full Tilt Transportation offer.
There's currently a shortage of truck drivers and professional drivers. This has lead to high demand for truck drivers. These are individuals who are essential to the function of the U.S. economy. As a driver with Full Tilt, you have the important job of delivering the food we eat, the clothes we wear, and the materials that we use to build our homes. As a truck driver, you are performing a significant job that can't be exported or shipped overseas.
Once you get that first year of driving under your belt, you can choose from many different career paths in the trucking industry. After spending some time on the road, some drivers then decide to become trainers, dispatchers, or fleet managers. Just remember that trucking is like any other industry. You have to accrue seniority and acquire some experience before you can advance to higher and more sought-after positions.
As a Full Tilt truck driver, you'll enjoy the freedom of the open road. If you're an independent person you get to do things your way for the most part. This is one of the added benefits that leads people into truck driving careers. For truck drivers needing to stay closer to Reno, Full Tilt also has short hauls and local routes.
Full Tilt truck drivers get to see the country and get paid good money! Just last year alone, we’ve had drivers deliver to the NCAA College Basketball Final Four, Super Bowl, hurricane relief in Texas and Louisiana and delivering Monster Trucks to Monster Jam events.
