National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 13-19, is a time to recognize and thank the freight industry’s 3.5 million truck drivers for their hard work and service. This year takes on special significance due to the critical role truck drivers have played in the face of the COVID pandemic. Over the years, and throughout the COVID pandemic, truck drivers have delivered household goods, groceries, and other critical supplies safely and securely. Nearly every aspect of daily life is made possible because a truck driver delivered the goods and resources people need.
Full Tilt is fortunate to have so many dedicated and qualified drivers delivering our freight. Many of our drivers have been with us since the day we opened Full Tilt Transportation in July of 2017. Full Tilt Logistics opened in 2014. We are selective in who we hire to operate our equipment and because of our high standards, we truly do have the best drivers on the road today.
Communities, businesses, and Americans in all fifty states appreciate truck drivers, realizing the essential role drivers play in their lives. From children passing out lunches, to "I Heart Truck" signs across America's highways, the public has taken notice of the essential role truck drivers play in their lives. President Trump and Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao said, "Thank God for truckers."
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week offers a great opportunity to recognize and thank all the professional truck drivers! Their hard work and commitment touch nearly every aspect of our daily life. It is an important time for America to pay respect and thank all the professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in undertaking one of our economy's most demanding and important jobs. These 3.5 million professional men and women not only deliver our goods safely, securely, and on time, they also keep our highways safe.
Full Tilt wants to extend its gratitude and deep appreciation to all drivers.
Full Tilt Transportation just passed the three-year mark providing the most cost-effective and reliable trucking services available anywhere in the country. The company has grown rapidly since its inception and has been a great compliment to Full Tilt Logistics which is entering its seventh year.
Both Full Tilt Transportation and Full Tilt Logistics have previously earned the prestigious “SmartWay” designation for those transportation companies utilizing the most fuel-efficient equipment on the road today. SmartWay companies save countless gallons of fuel annually and greatly reduce the negative carbon impact on Mother Earth.
Consistent with our culture of giving back and demonstrating our commitment to responsible practices, our transportation company recently had its drivers certified as part of the Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) program. During our regular safety meetings, our drivers have been trained in the program requirements and specifics. Our drivers have been educated on the signs of human trafficking and what to do if they suspect it and play a vital role in combatting this crime.
Truckers against Trafficking exists to educate, equip, empower, and mobilize members of the trucking industry to combat domestic sex trafficking as part of their everyday jobs.
Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) helps fight sex trafficking on behalf of the entire transportation industry. TAT works to educate and equip those who travel along truck routes to identify and report suspected sex trafficking through an anonymous national hotline. This simple act makes the roads safer and helps recover innocent victims. When truckers are TAT Trained, they make more reports to the hotline, more victims are recovered, and more pimps prosecuted.
Moving products from Point A to Point B is critical to helping the country thrive. Without American roadways, products do not get into the hands of American businesses and customers. Ground transportation continues to be an efficient and reliable way to transport products and merchandise. Yet, realities exist along those roads that demand attention. Victims of all ages and genders are being forced into prostitution and exploited at locations transportation professionals frequent, including rest areas, hotels/motels, truck, and even places where drivers are delivering their loads.
One in four victims are children. Innocent victims are regularly moved from point-to-point, just like products and merchandise. These victims are relying on those around them, in these critical locations, witnessing these crimes taking place and knowing how to act. With one simple decision, we can help put an end to domestic sex trafficking along North American roadways.
Truckers Against Trafficking is mobilizing an entire network by educating and empowering transportation professionals to recognize and report human trafficking to reduce this exploitation. Members of the trucking industry are in a unique position to actively support this mission and to demonstrate our deep commitment to this country and the safety of its citizens.
This program is effective, and victims of sex trafficking are becoming survivors, and their exploiters are being arrested and prosecuted. Reporting this crime rescues victims and brings their perpetrators to justice. America’s trucking industry is taking a proactive stand against commercial sex slavery and making a substantial impact to end it. Truckers across the country continue to provide tips to the hotline that are helping return freedom to survivors. The cruel reality of human sex trafficking in America is all too real for the young innocent victims and their families.
Full Tilt drivers are fully trained and always on the lookout for potential victims of these terrible crimes. Contact Full Tilt today for a true partnership and reliable resource for all your transportation needs.
What a few months it has been. The Full Tilt team wishes you all good health both physically and economically. It has truly been a struggle for most Americans; however, we believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and we are getting closer to putting this pandemic in the rear-view mirror. Our business has been negatively impacted both by the immediate shutdown of many of our customers' industry-specific events, as well as the significant receivables we have yet to receive due to the virus’s impact on the economy. As a result, we have had to furlough employees and cut expenses wherever possible. The good news is that we have been forced to bring on new customers in other economic sectors and we are strategically growing that segment of the business.
Full Tilt relies heavily on gaming, special events, trade shows, and other recreational events so the virus’s impact on our company was devastating as these industries immediately shut down. We are starting to see movement in this customer base and these sectors are slowly waking up and beginning to reposition for business moving forward. They are coming back and we are beginning to revive our business partnerships with them. Because of our strong relationships built on years of excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities they are relying on Full Tilt to get them back up and running as before. Our employees are experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated, results-driven, personable and excellent communicators so according to our customers it was a “no brainer” who they need to help bring them back.
We will do whatever it takes to make this pandemic a distant memory and believe the greatest economy in history will bounce back. Thank you to all our customers for their belief in Full Tilt and the belief that we are your best choice for a true transportation partner for any type of logistics and transportation solution.
We wish you all the best, stay safe and please contact us today to see how Full Tilt can help your company achieve their goals.
Obviously, the past several weeks have had a devastating impact on individuals, families, local and state governments, our national economy, and well-being. Along with the wreckage of the greatest economy in the world, many Americans have experienced a toll on their lives and related social issues have been significant. No one saw this coming.
The COVID-19 situation has significantly impacted Full Tilt and we have had to furlough employees and do more with less. Over the last several years, we’ve provided transportation services to many large trade shows, exhibits, and other large events. This year, these events came to an abrupt stop, forcing us to move in other directions and get creative in our ability to navigate through the situation. Many customers have stopped paying, yet we continue to pay our carriers and drivers. How long this will last is uncertain.
On a positive note, we have been able to be part of the solution to keeping critical support services moving through the supply chain. This has been extremely rewarding for our company. In addition to moving critical items, we have been partnering with FEMA and called into action to fulfill contracts and provide support services during this deadly virus outbreak. Full Tilt’s partnership with FEMA goes back to Hurricane Harvey and we have seen firsthand the devastation nature can bring. The current situation is much different.
Our drivers and carriers are critical in maintaining the lifeline supply chain. As sickness and death surround everyone, people realize that logistics and supply chain operations are needed for survival with a sincere appreciation for the trucking industry. As part of the supply chain industry during these times, we are thankful to be able to do our part. Every day we see or hear about an act of selflessness completed by someone making their contribution to the fight. We are so thankful to our drivers and carriers who continue to drive. Their commitment and willingness to stay on the road during this time keep supply chains open. It’s uplifting to know that people are communicating and collaborating as needed to service our frontline responders, our foodservice industry, and other vital needs. We are proud Full Tilt Logistics is supporting the needs of FEMA and other industries responding to the war with the virus.
Full Tilt Logistics is known in our community for shipping freight throughout Nevada and across the country. We can help any business size from Mom & Pop stores that are going to reopen to FEMA and other government agencies. Through our ability to react in this crisis, we have demonstrated that we change as business needs dictate. At Full Tilt, we hope everyone stays safe. Keep on trucking for the win against COVID 19!
Although Full Tilt Logistics and Full Tilt Transportation are women-owned companies, there is no doubt who the big diesel engines are that power the organizations. Co-owners and brothers Nic and Cris Novich are the drivers of the bus. Everyone has their strengths and lanes of responsibility, but the Novich brothers are truly the leaders of the rapidly growing companies.
These two brothers have been closely connected their entire lives. Nic, the oldest helped found Full Tilt Logistics in 2014 and convinced younger brother Cris to join him in 2017 and create Full Tilt Transportation. The lifelong trust between the brothers cannot be emphasized enough, they have each other’s backs when things get hectic as is usually the case in a freight brokerage, trucking, and transportation business. Although the brothers work closely together operating the two companies, they arrived at this business partnership in different ways.
Older brother Nic runs Full Tilt Logistics. He has worked with several large freight brokerage and transportation companies and was a key contributor in starting two brokerages before founding Full Tilt Logistics in 2014. He has experience and a thorough knowledge of the business. His sales ability and customer service skills are exceptional because he is honest and smart with a healthy dose of common sense. He is a high-energy, whatever it takes to get the job done leader and is the true visionary of the companies. He has always had and still does have a true vision of where Full Tilt will be in ten years, thinking several steps ahead of his business partners and employees. When we think things are going well and running smoothly Nic wonders “what if we did this” or “have you seen the latest technology” or “what if we bought a new building”. Without his knowledge of the industry and continuing to push the envelope, Full Tilt would not be where it is today.
Younger brother Cris runs Full Tilt Transportation. He joined the business in 2017 and was responsible for starting Full Tilt Transportation, the asset-based component of the organizations. Cris is the numbers guy and was a successful Financial Advisor prior to joining the family business. With his leadership, the company has grown to eighteen power units and over forty 53’ dry van trailers. Although decisions must be made quickly, Cris’s planning and organizational skills ensure the company stays on track. Cris can often be found with a phone in each hand and five computer monitors in front of him. He is constantly focused on reducing operating expenses by finding fuel discounts and better insurance rates for the company. He recruits and hires drivers, develops business relationships with existing customers, and sells Full Tilt services to prospective customers.
Nic and Cris's passion and dedication to Full Tilt is always on display and with their leadership, our employee base has grown and we now boast some of the best, well-trained employees in the business. Leading by example, supporting employees and providing them with opportunities to grow with the business have been key in recruiting and maintaining a competent workforce. Employees have the authority and are encouraged to take chances and make decisions to serve the customers' best interests. Nic and Cris are always available to support their employees when they need it. The brothers constantly check in with our customers to see how things are going from their side. In these conversations, we often hear how great it is to work with Full Tilt because customers can always reach an owner for a prompt response to a question or to get a problem solved quickly.
Although the success of Full Tilt is a major part of their lives, maintaining a solid family unit is most important to Nic and Cris. They are both wonderful fathers and husbands and are able to balance work and family effectively. Of course, both of their spouses are also part owners of the companies, so Full Tilt truly is a tight-knit family operation.

We have been blessed this year with healthy families and robust business growth. Year over year Full Tilt Transportation is up 17% while Full Tilt Logistics posted a steady 8% growth. In addition, we were able to create additional jobs in the Reno area by bringing on five new employees.
Our owners have deep roots in the local community, spanning four generations, and have watched the area grow from a dusty gambling town to a rapidly growing energized city with high tech companies such as Google, Switch, Tesla, Microsoft, and others locating in the area. Also, the revitalization of several areas of the city, unlimited outdoor recreation, and available job opportunities have driven the population growth and the desire to live in the area. With increased growth, comes issues such as traffic, housing and the need for additional community services.
As business owners and stewards of our community, at Full Tilt, we understand that contributing and giving back to the community is as important as growing our business. This year we were able to help many organizations through financial contributions, volunteer hours, and in-kind contributions. Some of them include:

The Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network (YPN) evolved out of a regional economic development planning process led by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN). The Target 2010 project identified that retaining and attracting young talent is a critical need for the greater Reno-Tahoe region.
In January 2006, at Directions Annual Conference, our community was challenged to empower young professionals to get involved in maintaining the region’s economic vitality and quality of life. In summer 2006, several focus groups were convened asking young professionals what they were looking for in an organization geared towards them.
Out of those focus groups, the first meeting of the Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network was held on November 9, 2006, with more than 40 people attending. In December of that year, the first board of directors was appointed. In February 2007, the group celebrated its official launch at Directions 2007 with more than 700 regional business leaders.
Reno Tahoe YPN has continued to evolve to meet the needs of a growing membership and changing economy. The focus has always been to cultivate an informed and active young professional community that collaborates with the community and a variety of established partner organizations throughout northern Nevada.
Tiffany has led Full Tilt to great success and growth over the last several years and we can't wait to see what the future holds! If you're looking for a career in transportation and logistics, connect with us to find out more about what makes Full Tilt one of the best employers in the area.
