Although Full Tilt Logistics and Full Tilt Transportation are women-owned companies, there is no doubt that the big diesel engines are what power the organizations. Co-owners and brothers Nic and Cris Novich are the drivers of the bus. Everyone has their strengths and lanes of responsibility, but the Novich brothers are truly the leaders of the rapidly growing companies.
These two brothers have been closely connected their entire lives. Nic, the oldest, helped found Full Tilt Logistics in 2014 and convinced his younger brother Cris to join him in 2017 and create Full Tilt Transportation. The lifelong trust between the brothers cannot be emphasized enough; they have each other’s backs when things get hectic, as is usually the case in a freight brokerage, trucking, and transportation business. Although the brothers work closely together operating the two companies, they arrived at this business partnership in different ways.
Older brother Nic runs Full Tilt Logistics. He has worked with several large freight brokerage and transportation companies and was a key contributor in starting two brokerages before founding Full Tilt Logistics in 2014. He has experience and a thorough knowledge of the business. His sales ability and customer service skills are exceptional because he is honest and smart with a healthy dose of common sense. He is a high-energy, whatever-it-takes-to-get-the-job-done leader and is the true visionary of the company. He has always had and still does have a true vision of where Full Tilt will be in ten years, thinking several steps ahead of his business partners and employees. When we think things are going well and running Nic wonders “what if we did this” or “have you seen the latest technology” or “what if we bought a new building”. Without his knowledge of the industry and continuing to push the envelope, Full Tilt would not be where it is today.
Younger brother Cris runs Full Tilt Transportation. He joined the business in 2017 and was responsible for starting Full Tilt Transportation, the asset-based component of the organization. Cris is the numbers guy and was a successful Financial Advisor prior to joining the family business. With his leadership, the company has grown to eighteen power units and over forty 53’ dry van trailers. Although decisions must be made quickly, Cris’s planning and organizational skills ensure the company stays on track. Cris can often be found with a phone in each hand and five computer monitors in front of him. He is constantly focused on reducing operating expenses by finding fuel discounts and better insurance rates for the company. He recruits and hires drivers, develops business relationships with existing customers, and sells Full Tilt services to prospective customers.
Nic and Cris's passion and dedication to Full Tilt are always on display, and with their leadership, our employee base has grown, and we now boast some of the best, well-trained employees in the business. Leading by example, supporting employees, and providing them with opportunities to grow with the business have been key in recruiting and maintaining a competent workforce. Employees have the authority and are encouraged to take chances and make decisions to serve the customers' best interests. Thanks to our many loyal customers and our excellent service, Full Tilt Logistics and Full Tilt Transportation were able to continue our upward trajectory in terms of growth and employee hiring in 2019. Whew! What a week…..Rodeo Week. It goes without saying that Full Tilt Logistics and Transportation work hard for our customers, with employees working as many hours as it takes to get it right every time. We take this business seriously, and our trucks are always moving. The 3PL brokerage also believes that if you tell a customer you will do something, you do it….no excuses.

We all had a chance to unwind this past week at the Reno Rodeo – “The Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West”. Full Tilt is good at what we do, trucking, freight brokerage, and solutions for warehouses in Reno, Nevada, but we need to improve in our steer decorating technique. We had two teams in the steer decorating contest this year, one female and one male, and neither team brought home the gold.
Full Tilt’s financial contribution to this year's Reno Rodeo allows the Rodeo Association to continue to be a major benefactor and contributor to our local community. The Rodeo Association helps our community in so many ways. They aid children with extraordinary needs, build community partnerships, and fund grants and educational scholarships. Two of their programs are especially important to Full Tilt. The Denim Drive, which has provided clothing to over 40,000 local abused, neglected, and abandoned children, and the Reading Room Books for Children, which provides reading materials and volunteer readers, serve as a refuge for children who wind up in court situations, not by their own doing.

Donated hundreds of dollars in supplies and products to female students who can’t afford personal hygiene products.
Donated $500.00 to Awaken Reno to conduct outreach and provide direct services to women and girls to help them transition out of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE).
Donated $500.00 cash and $300.00 in food for the victims of the devastating Camp Fire in Paradise, California.
Provided transportation services by delivering bicycles to Turning Wheels for Kids, an organization that assists kids with transportation to improve school attendance, job responsibility, and reliability.

Finally, after months of construction, Full Tilt Logistics and Full Tilt Transportation have relocated! Our new company-owned headquarters is located at 470 East Plumb Lane in Reno. This 11,116 square foot three-story office building, located in the heart of Reno, will provide Full Tilt, your Reno logistics company, the ability to strategically grow the business to serve an ever-increasing customer base.
The building interior was demolished and redesigned to meet the fast-paced environment in today’s freight brokerage services and trucking business. Space planning and design were done by the prominent local architects: Collaborative Design Studio of Reno. The redesign incorporated an industrial open office concept, utilizing the latest lighting and space conditioning technology to increase energy efficiency and lower our carbon footprint. Interior décor was provided by Reno Business Interiors, and building construction was done by longtime local contractor C3 Construction. New exterior signage and paint were used to professionally brand the building, consistent with Full Tilt’s company image. The latest in building security and video surveillance make the company headquarters one of the most secure facilities in the area. New fencing and parking lot resurfacing will be completed soon.
Full Tilt worked closely with a local energy supplier, NV Energy, to maximize lighting load reduction by entirely retrofitting the building and replacing incandescent and fluorescent lighting with high-efficiency LED technology. Building interior and exterior lighting now utilizes motion sensors, timers, and photocells that automatically adjust the lighting based on ambient light levels. This technology minimizes lighting load while providing employees with optimal light levels to operate in the most effective manner.
In addition, Full Tilt partnered with NV Energy in their “power shift” energy management system. Program equipment was installed to enable communication between the NV Energy demand response management system and Full Tilt equipment. This equipment provides energy efficiency and demand savings in addition to gaining operation and maintenance efficiencies.
