As of early 2021, the logistics and supply chain industry is 22 percent women. There are slightly less women in warehouse and distribution roles, at 19 percent. Jessica N. “I enjoy spending time with my husband who is also my best friend and coworker. My three children are the center of my world: Porter, Paige and Penny. In my down time you can find me doing physical activity or curled up on the couch with my family watching a Marvel or Harry Potter movie.”
Tiffany N. “I love spending time with my husband, Nic and my two children Avrie and Luke. We spend our time skiing, participating in archery, wrestling and hiking. I enjoy a decent spa day once in a while, and I love a good nap. “
Our Chief Financial Officer, Cindy, enjoys being able to travel with her husband, spend time at their home in Graeagle with family and working with her children and in-laws!
Taylor: “I love spending time with my loved ones, whether that’s friends or family. After years of development, I find that being with those who are most supportive in your life can be incredibly grounding. We spend a lot of time eating together, fighting like a family, and lifting each other up. I spent most of my teenage years in and out of doctors appointments which has made me appreciate the little things a lot more. I like to spend as much time as I can with my loved ones. Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) helps fight sex trafficking on behalf of the entire transportation industry. TAT works to educate and equip those who travel along truck routes to identify and report suspected sex trafficking through an anonymous national hotline. This simple act makes the roads safer and helps recover innocent victims. When truckers are TAT Trained, they make more reports to the hotline, more victims are recovered, and more pimps prosecuted.

Obviously, the past several weeks have had a devastating impact on individuals, families, local and state governments, our national economy, and well-being. Along with the wreckage of the greatest economy in the world, many Americans have experienced a toll on their lives and related social issues have been significant. No one saw this coming.
The COVID-19 situation has significantly impacted Full Tilt and we have had to furlough employees and do more with less. Over the last several years, we’ve provided transportation services to many large trade shows, exhibits, and other large events. This year, these events came to an abrupt stop, forcing us to move in other directions and get creative in our ability to navigate through the situation. Many customers have stopped paying, yet we continue to pay our carriers and drivers. How long this will last is uncertain.
On a positive note, we have been able to be part of the solution to keeping critical support services moving through the supply chain. This has been extremely rewarding for our company. In addition to moving critical items, we have been partnering with FEMA and called into action to fulfill contracts and provide support services during this deadly virus outbreak. Full Tilt’s partnership with FEMA goes back to Hurricane Harvey and we have seen firsthand the devastation nature can bring. The current situation is much different.
Our drivers and carriers are critical in maintaining the lifeline supply chain. As sickness and death surround everyone, people realize that logistics and supply chain operations are needed for survival with a sincere appreciation for the trucking industry. As part of the supply chain industry during these times, we are thankful to be able to do our part. This winter has been record-setting for moisture in the Sierra Nevada mountains as well as most of California. At Full Tilt Logistics, we love being headquartered in the beautiful Reno-Tahoe area with an excellent lifestyle. We get to witness first hand some of the problems drivers must deal with when it comes to winter freight shipping.
Interstate 80 is the major east-west thoroughfare through for the Reno trucking industry but the road has often been closed for weather this year. Nevada and California state transportation departments do their best to maintain travel but there are many times the driving can be stopped or slow going at best. We occasionally see drivers try and get by stalled traffic to keep the delivery schedule on time as much as possible. Several drivers have attempted to use local neighborhood streets to avoid heavy traffic.
As you can see by the photo below, this doesn’t always work out. This photo was taken recently in a residential neighborhood just off I 80 near the Nevada-California state line.
