We’re incredibly proud of the phenomenal women that play an integral part in making Full Tilt Logistics an industry leader in warehousing and transportation logistics. As of early 2021, the logistics and supply chain industry is 22 percent women. There are slightly less women in warehouse and distribution roles, at 19 percent. We’re proud to be a women owned business and have women working at every level of our company, from our CEO to our drivers.
Let’s take a look at some of the awesome women at Full Tilt and what their favorite things to do in their spare time are. We love to hear about work-life balance, and we’re constantly impressed by what the women of our company get done!
Jessica N. “I enjoy spending time with my husband who is also my best friend and coworker. My three children are the center of my world: Porter, Paige and Penny. In my down time you can find me doing physical activity or curled up on the couch with my family watching a Marvel or Harry Potter movie.”
Tiffany N. “I love spending time with my husband, Nic and my two children Avrie and Luke. We spend our time skiing, participating in archery, wrestling and hiking. I enjoy a decent spa day once in a while, and I love a good nap. “
Our Chief Financial Officer, Cindy, enjoys being able to travel with her husband, spend time at their home in Graeagle with family and working with her children and in-laws!
Taylor: “I love spending time with my loved ones, whether that’s friends or family. After years of development, I find that being with those who are most supportive in your life can be incredibly grounding. We spend a lot of time eating together, fighting like a family, and lifting each other up. When I’m not with them I spend time with my boyfriend JT, and our cat Ermac.”
Mary: “A few things I love to do during my free time include fishing, camping, and traveling the coast to explore all the farmers markets on the way! Something not too many people know about me is that I have a goal to relocate to Thailand for a few years when the time is right!”
Kimberly: “My daughter is my everything. I enjoy crafting. I have been in the trucking industry my entire life.”
Donna E.: “I love the absolute thrill of helping a new customer solve their freight problems. Outside of work, there is no better day than spending it with my family, my grandbabies, my dogs and chickens. A day in the kitchen cooking a big meal for my family is the best day ever.”
Yevette P.: “During my down time, I enjoy painting. Right now, I am working with oils and acrylics. I am still learning, but it makes me happy when I finish a painting. I hope to get much better in time.”
Stephanie M.: “Something interesting about myself and is also something I love is that I am currently 36 turning 37. I met my wonderful, amazing husband Benjamin right after we graduated high school and this year will be our 18th anniversary together and 17 years married. I have been married almost half my life and married my first and only love.”
Taylor B.: “I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when I was fourteen years old. I spent most of my teenage years in and out of doctors appointments which has made me appreciate the little things a lot more. I like to spend as much time as I can with my loved ones. I enjoy cooking, any outdoor activities, mostly hiking, photography, and spoiling my cat.”
Tamlynn J.: “Aside from diving all over our beautiful country, I am enjoying focusing my time on becoming a healthier “me” by losing weight and living a healthy, holistic lifestyle.”
Felyshia T. “I am a 31-year-old wife, married for 10 years. I am a mother to a crazy, fun loving 9-year-old boy named Rex, a beautiful, artsy 10-year-old girl named Zoee, and a strong, smart 11-year-old boy named Vann. I grew up in foster care before being adopted at 13, and I am a two time cancer survivor.”

What a few months it has been. The Full Tilt team wishes you all good health both physically and economically. It has truly been a struggle for most Americans; however, we believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and we are getting closer to putting this pandemic in the rear-view mirror. Our business has been negatively impacted both by the immediate shutdown of many of our customers' industry-specific events, as well as the significant receivables we have yet to receive due to the virus’s impact on the economy. As a result, we have had to furlough employees and cut expenses wherever possible. The good news is that we have been forced to bring on new customers in other economic sectors and we are strategically growing that segment of the business.
Full Tilt relies heavily on gaming, special events, trade shows, and other recreational events so the virus’s impact on our company was devastating as these industries immediately shut down. We are starting to see movement in this customer base and these sectors are slowly waking up and beginning to reposition for business moving forward. They are coming back and we are beginning to revive our business partnerships with them. Because of our strong relationships built on years of excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities they are relying on Full Tilt to get them back up and running as before. Our employees are experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated, results-driven, personable and excellent communicators so according to our customers it was a “no brainer” who they need to help bring them back.
We will do whatever it takes to make this pandemic a distant memory and believe the greatest economy in history will bounce back. Do your homework and ace the test! This doesn't only work well in school, it also applies to business. At Full Tilt Logistics, we do our homework and the results are solid grades from our growing customer base. In the fast-paced logistics and transportation industry, everyone is in a hurry and we get that. As a leader in delivering high value shipments, we have found that spending some time on the front end (homework) leads to better results for our customers (acing the test).
Let’s talk about one segment of our business and describe how we do our homework. We routinely transport time-sensitive, high value shipments like equipment for trade show exhibits and live entertainment events. Because these events are on a tight schedule, they require strict timelines. Generally, we are only given a small window to deliver to the show, pick up from the show, and get to the next event. If mistakes are made or deadlines are missed, it gets expensive. Often union labor is waiting for the freight and if there is a delay, it’s costly. We follow the following procedures to ensure on-time delivery.
For all carriers, we check the carrier’s DOT information through Safer Watch and FMCSA (Federal Carrier Safety Administration). We are looking for excellent safety scores, current insurance, proper operating authority, and TIA Watchdog notifications for any infractions against their company. Any issues, at all, and they are not approved by Full Tilt.
We verify the driver provided by the carrier is the correct driver and has the exact instructions regarding the load. Daily updates from the drivers are required, however, often our dispatch department is in contact with every driver several times a day to accurately determine the status of the load and ensure compliance with the delivery or pick-up schedule.
We thoroughly describe and communicate to the carrier the specific equipment that is required for each shipment. Not only trailer type, but accessories like blanket wraps, straps, load bars, and decking to name a few. We include the equipment list on the rate confirmation to the driver and get verbal agreement over a recorded line to eliminate any misunderstanding. Also, an email confirmation is sent to restate the required equipment again. Full Tilt implements this process to avoid any last minute surprises.
Full Tilt utilizes an ELD (Electronic Logging Device) driver tracking system to make sure drivers have the available hours for on-time pickup and delivery. Driving time is federally regulated and all drivers must follow the law. If drivers are short on time for any time-sensitive high value shipments, they are not approved for the load.
Shipment-specific details are provided to every driver regarding each shipment. Destination contact information, location nuances, and defined pickup and delivery time windows are among the many instructions provided. They are detailed on the rate and load confirmation that the carrier must agree to and sign off on. Failure to meet agreed-upon instructions will result in dollar reductions for the carrier. This is an effective incentive for carriers to do their best to pick up and deliver on time. Any delays may result in catastrophic failures for our customers which is unacceptable. Imagine a major trade show exhibit waiting for material to set up the show.
